Examples

Inge have started to work with the example and have these questions:

  • Q: Ideally material that are in public domain so its possible to see the resource, but where to find a good example ; PDF , PDF/A, data set ; .
    • Robin and Aaron will look. Aaron will respond! One option might be to use on of our own PowerPoints for an iPres tutorial.
  • Q: what to do with all optional elements and attributes ; for now these attributes have the default value as generated by the METS2 schema
    • Not all attributes needs to be in the example
  • Q: for now I skipped mdRef and binData in this example ; what are the ideas how complete the example should be?
    • Ok!

Presentation

We need to think about how it will be presented some options are:

We agreed that the TS EAS one is mostlikely the best one for us. CAn be implemented later on but we need to have it in mind.

Profiles

Looking at https://www.loc.gov/standards/mets/mets-profiles.html and the sub page https://www.loc.gov/standards/mets/profile_docs/components.html we can see that on the first page it needs to be updated so that it is for profiles for METS 1. When it comes to the second page almost all the information is in the profile schema for METS 2 except a starting summary.

Needed on the webpage is a pointer to the description of profiles for METS 2 that are in the primer. Request will be sent to Glenn in a txt document when all is ready.
