2018 09 06 Board Meeting

Attending: Tom, Juha, Karin, Tobias, Robin
- Taking control of the METS Right Schema was deferred to the next meeting on October 18.
- The Board discussed replacing departing member Leah Prescott. Previously the co-chairs solicited nominations, reviewed applicants, and made a recommendation to the Board. For expedience it was suggested that maybe we should contact previous runner-up applicants who were not chosen in the past search, and see if they would still be interested in joining the Board. Tom will check his notes from the previous search and share them with the Board for discussion via email or at the next Board meeting.
- Next the upcoming iPres conference was discussed. The Board is pleased that about 45 people have signed up for the METS Workshop. We are also happy that Board members Tobias and Aaron will also be present and have offered their assistance as needed. Presenters Karin, Juha, and Tom are meeting September 11 to finalize the presentations and exercises for the Workshop. Details will be shared with the Board after that meeting.
- Karin also announced that there will be an ad-hoc PREMIS Implementation Fair at iPRES on Tuesday afternoon, 25th September, 3:30pm-5:00pm. Any METS Board members attending iPres are encouraged to attend if they can.
- Discussion of the work to update documentation related to using xlink in METS.
