Aaron sent a mail to METS list on 18-12-2019.
Karin added a list of some changes to the Trello board and sent a mail to METS Board (17-12-2019) with a link to Google Drive to take a look at the changes. Aaron added the METS overview changes (18-12-2019). Everyone is requested to take a look at all word documents; best before next meeting. After this Karin will send the link to Google Drive to Glenn for adjusting the web pages.
Juha added comments to Github issue https://github.com/mets/METS-board/issues/41 Juha shows he created a new category:METS of Content Type in COPTR https://coptr.digipres.org/Category:METS and he already linked (earlier created) “Pre-Ingest Tool” to this category. Also during the meeting he creates a link to already existing tool “PREMIS in METS (PiM) Toolbox”. Now we all can add / link tools from Github issue / METS webpage to COPTR and later on we can add a link from the METS page to COPTR.
Xlink issue will be discussed in a separate meeting. Aaron didn’t send out a poll after December meeting because of the holidays, but will do that today after the meeting.
Do we want to submit workshop or tutorial? Deadline is March 15. Karin tells PREMIS EC is submitting a tutorial for complete beginners and we decide to do the same for METS. It will be something like the tutorial in Boston, to focus on all METS elements. Karin will make a draft based on the iPRES 2018 tutorial and share it on Google Drive. Juha is second author/presenter and third author/presenter depends on who will be attending iPRES 2020; probably Tobias or Inge.
iPRES 2020 is a possible meeting spot, but probably just a few people will attend iPRES this year. Also DLF 2020 is a possibility. We will move this item to next meeting.
Jukka took a look at board wiki-pages on https://github.com/mets/METS-board/wiki ; they contain outdated info and tasks etc and should be updated. It’s more about rearranging than deleting. It will be a lot of cleaning and move stuff to an archival section. Jukka will send a list of proposed changes.
Karin found links to METS Board Twitter/Blog/Facebook accounts while going through the METS website. We don’t know who has the passwords etc so we can’t do anything with it. But also we see no reason to do anything with these pages, if we could. We just have to be aware that these pages exist.
