METS Editorial Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Betsy, Tom, Karin, Andreas, Leah, Robin, Nancy

Agenda:

Minutes of last meeting need to be reviewed and approved. Send any corrections / objections to the METS Board list.

METS 2.0 Workshop:

• The METS 2.0 Workshop at iPres 2015 has been changed to all day Monday, November 2nd and the descriptive text about the workshop has been corrected from its previous reference to PREMIS.
• Betsy has not received any response from the Duraspace people about who might speak to the Portland Common Data Model (PCDM) at the workshop.
• Andreas will contact Esme Cowles at UC San Diego regarding the PCDM & find out if / how Cowles would like to join the conversation about METS 2.0 at the workshop, perhaps as a separate presentation after the presentations about the METS 2.0 draft and the use case findings.
• We can wait to change the topic outline for the workshop, and solicit other presenters (such as vendors or implementors) until we hear back from Andreas re: the PCDM involvement.
• We can also wait to send out notices to some of the listservs (such as Metadatalibrarians, etc.) about the workshop as well until September, probably. Betsy has the list of listservs to which we sent notices for the London workshop.

METS / PREMIS Joint Meeting at iPres2015

• Betsy has had no luck getting a response to her queries about finding a space for a joint meeting from the iPres conference organizers.
• Nancy will contact Cal Lee at UNC Library School to see if he has any recommendations for a person to contact.
• We're interested in a joint, informal meeting on Friday afternoon, November 6th after the PREMIS Implementation Fair.
