OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) version 6.0 deprecated
OMOP CDM version 6.0 was created and was initially intended to replace the CDM version 5.x version. However, support for OMOP CDM version 6.0 was never implemented in the OHDSI software tools, and it was not adopted by the OHDSI community. The existence of OMOP CDM version 6.0 has caused some ongoing confusion in the OHDSI community as to which version of the OMOP CDM they should be targeting for new deployments and the development/support of new/existing OHDSI software tools.
OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) version 6.0 is officially deprecated in favor of the ongoing use of version 5.x of the OMOP CDM.
OHDSI software tools will continue to target CDM version 5.x. The OHDSI community should deploy CDM version 5.x as the official supported version of the OMOP CDM data model. Some of the ideas from the deprecated version 6.0 may eventually be incorporated into CDM version 5.x, as determined by the OHDSI OMOP CDM working group.
