TAB Charter - Responsibilities

The Technical Advisory Board (TAB) has the following responsibilities, to ensure the success of OHDSI open source projects. These responsibilities are key to ensuring that the projects remain innovative, secure, and aligned with the community's needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Growth: Growing and maintaining a diverse, thriving OHDSI open source contributor community.
  • Release Coordination: Coordinating software releases into a stable 6-month delivery schedule.
  • Centralized Testing: Coordinating a centralized infrastructure for testing, ensuring the reliability and quality of software.
  • Standard Specification Development: Developing, promoting, and maintaining OHDSI standard specifications to uphold high standards in software quality.
  • Security Assurance: Ensuring OHDSI software is secure and documenting the security standards to protect data and privacy.
  • Community Groups Support: Assisting in the formation of technology-focused OHDSI User Groups to foster community engagement and collaboration.
  • Project Onboarding: Helping onboard new GitHub projects into the OHDSI organization, facilitating a seamless integration.
  • Standards Advocacy: Leveraging open standards to ensure interoperability and consistency across projects.
  • Technical Community Representation: Representing the OHDSI technical community in outreach to other open source communities, establishing partnerships and collaborations.
