TAB Charter - Member Mentorship

Member mentorship within the Technical Advisory Board (TAB) is pivotal in nurturing the board's effectiveness and leadership. The mentorship program supports new members, fosters knowledge sharing, and identifies potential future leaders from within the OHDSI community, particularly from the OHDSI Khieron group.

Mentorship Objectives

The mentorship program within the TAB is focused on:

  • Smooth Onboarding: Assisting new TAB members in integrating effectively, understanding their roles, and acclimating to the TAB's dynamics.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Facilitating the sharing of knowledge and best practices from experienced members to newcomers.
  • Leadership Cultivation: Identifying and mentoring potential future TAB members from the OHDSI Khieron group, fostering a pipeline of skilled and committed leaders.

Mentorship Process

  • Mentor Assignments: New TAB members are paired with existing members who provide guidance during their initial tenure.
  • Regular Engagement: Regular meetings between mentors and mentees to discuss challenges, progress, and opportunities for growth.

Extending Mentorship to OHDSI Khieron Group

  • Identifying Potential Leaders: Actively identifying individuals in the OHDSI Khieron group who show leadership potential and interest in contributing to the TAB.
  • Structured Mentorship: Offering structured mentorship to these individuals, preparing them for potential future roles within the TAB.
  • Encouraging Active Participation: Encouraging these individuals to participate actively in OHDSI initiatives, including taskforces, providing them with opportunities to demonstrate and enhance their skills.

Benefits of Mentorship

  • Collaborative Culture: The program promotes a supportive and collaborative culture within the TAB and the broader OHDSI community.
  • TAB Growth: It ensures a consistent influx of skilled, knowledgeable, and prepared members into the TAB, enhancing the board's overall effectiveness.

The TAB’s dedication to mentorship not only facilitates the effective functioning of the board but also ensures the ongoing development of its members and the broader OHDSI community, including the nurturing of future leaders from the OHDSI Khieron group.
