TAB Charter - Decision Making & Conflict Resolution

Effective decision-making and conflict resolution are vital for the effective functioning of the Technical Advisory Board (TAB). The TAB has established structured processes to ensure decisions are made thoughtfully and any conflicts are resolved constructively.

Decision Making Process

  • Collective Voting: TAB members collectively vote on technical decisions, ensuring that each decision is the result of diverse inputs and perspectives.
  • Informed Discussions: Before voting, thorough discussions are held to understand all aspects of the subject matter, allowing informed and balanced decision-making.
  • Majority Rule: A majority vote is typically required for a decision to be finalized, ensuring decisions are representative of the board’s collective opinion.

Conflict Resolution Mechanism

  • Structured Approach: The TAB utilizes a structured process for resolving disagreements within the board, focusing on open communication and objective analysis.
  • Constructive Dialogue: Encouraging open communication and constructive dialogue among members to address and resolve conflicts.
  • Escalation Procedures: In cases where conflicts cannot be resolved internally, they are escalated to OHDSI Leadership for further mediation and resolution.

Fostering a Collaborative Environment

  • Mutual Respect: All members are encouraged to approach discussions and decisions with a spirit of respect, collaboration, and open-mindedness.
  • Transparency: The TAB will maintain transparency in decision-making processes to ensure all members are aware of how and why decisions are made.
