How are you doing? How are things where you are now?
UToronto - all wfh, courses online, staff changes wrt to Islandora
Don -- look to be at home through April. Confirmed cases at work
Danny -- tape on the floor in grocery store
Melissa -- weird, but wfh business as usual
Gavin -- high level of denial in area. Mixed messages and conflicting information.
Michael Kemezis -- left the house twice in 2 weeks to run errands. Surprising how unprepared people were for this at all levels. Wfh until May 17.
Janice - TP craze is nuts. SFU wfh, finding arrangements for those who do things like receiving materials.
Brandon -- was on vacation as things were escalating, waiting to hear about closing the library.
Jonathan Green -- remote work anyway but new context. Online planning meeting a new challenge
WRandtke -- miss dual monitors. Closed to May 5.

No old business for discussion
-
Messaging about resources/community (Melissa)
-
How can we help?
- Projects for excess work-from-home time
- When normal work activities are not possible in current wfh situation
- Are there ways to engage with open-source community to fill some of those holes?
- Resources
- Virtual networks
- Slack and discussion options
Checking in, send message about what we can offer, brainstorm about what those things are
Michael Kemezis Connecticut Digital Archive: accounts not IP restricted, call to cultural heritage networks, promoting digital project work and CDA as a resource. Messaging that we’re still working, here to help. Could be broadened out for Islandora?
Brandon in the chat: documentation improvements
WRandtke: Islandora Foundation not scrambling to rearrange conferences in the same way as many organizations, might allow for more bandwidth, in a better position.
Melissa: will draft something to share with the group
- Projects for excess work-from-home time
-
Metadata IG (Rosie)
- Meeting from March 23 discussion about fields used in different ways. Location (physical vs virtual vs institutional). Will need to do more hands-on tutorials to show how to edit YAML files for migration. Will need to edit YAML to migrate into non-standard fields.
- In chat from Danny to look into:
- we should really look into this Rosie: https://atendesigngroup.com/blog/entity-import-user-interface-drupal-8-migrations replace "editing yaml" with "editing with a whack of crazy forms", but it would help make people feel better
-
IR interest group (Bryan)
- Meeting from March 19 discussion of embargos in Islandora 8. Surveyed administrator practitioners on embargo most useful features. Discussion of what should be happening -- making sure that 8 can do embargos as a part of that.
-
ISLE Interest Group (Martha or Gavin)
- Gavin. Getting working Fedora 5 instance, successful preliminary test with Lyrasis. Working in Docker, ingest. Next steps: will refactor, test ingest from Drupal. MVP2 new testing, new workflow. Will be ISLE 7 release in next week or so.
-
Multi-tenancy Interest Group (Brandon)
- No news today. Will check in next week.
-
Danny: in the middle of release, in GitHub, other places. First release was completely manual; now bash scripts. Shifts with Drupal since recent work that required updates. Think about shadowing next time to create documentation. After release will survey again to figure out next development priorities.
-
Jonathan: link to github tool https://hub.github.com/
- Postponing iCampPEI
- Virtual events?
Melissa: prudent decision to reschedule PEI meeting. Initial discussions about when, but that’s very uncertain. Early in planning makes it less hard to cancel.
Virtual events, because probably won’t be able to hold in-person Islandora Camps this year.
Gavin: attended recent virtual conference (NERDC) that was all Zoom, had logins, Zoom rooms, proctors who ran things and turned over to the speaker. Recorded all sessions. Would be great to do something similar for Islandora. Can reach out to organizers for more info on running that. Kelly Albrecht, Rick Hood, are some of the organizer names https://nerd.ngo/ http://nerdslack.herokuapp.com/ You can get an automatic invite. Costs are suggested donation for tickets. Request those who can contribute more do so.
Michael Kemezis: annual membership for Connecticut Digital Library, working on converting a conference to digital. Would be happy to share that.
Melissa: what level of Zoom would we need to support something like that.
David Wilcox: Samvera runs a virtual conference regularly
Jonathan Green: Archivesspace also has a virtual conference
Melissa: are these free or is there a fee? If others are free, probably need to go with that model, maybe get sponsors. Volunteers to help: Gavin, Jonathan, Michael, +1
