Date: April 3, 2018, 5pm CET/German time (UTC+1)
- Building perspective: Presentation of first draft of common exercise document which focuses on the buildings (by Ina)
- 16 identical buildings were modelled in the IDEAS library and the simulation results were reported
- The exact workflow as well as an overview of the simulation results can be found in the README-document on the following repository: https://github.com/ibpsa/project1/tree/master/wp_3_2_destest
- To ensure an efficient meeting and a clear communication, could everyone please read this document by Tuesday April 3rd?
- Discussion
- On the current district (layout and data format)
- On the following steps
- 16 identical buildings were modelled in the IDEAS library and the simulation results were reported
- System perspective: Discussion on the systems: definition of thermal network (Felix)
- Layout
- Specification needed, …
- Schedule for common exercise + commitment (relate to perspective)
- Repeat call to provide information on what research questions are to be solved
- ==> results in multiple use cases that the DES test has to tackle

Alessandro, Annelies, Ina, Artem, Christoph, Konstantin, Dirk, Felix, Bram (notes)
Documents discussed by Ina can be found here.
- Buildings in SketchUp and extracted CityGML model (using FME)
- CityGML contains all
- geometry
- Area, volume, ...
- Day and night zone
- construction year
- U values
- geometry
- Standard occupant ISO13790
- Then simulate
- More info (such as all building elements, their layers and materials + day zone and night zone) in SimpleDistrict.teaserXML
- View in NotepadXML

Who will model the heat demand from a building perspective?
- Alessandro (Buildings/IBPSA)
- Konstantin & Ina (IDEAS)
- Peter (AixLib)
- Better to have contributors use several libraries to be able to compare. Alessandro will start in IBPSA library. If more time is available, multiple libraries can be tested by the same contributor.
- Further questions may be directed to Ina
-
Dirk: Is the definition of all 16 buildings separate?
- All parameters are the same, but they are still separate entities
- Layout and data format are clear
-
Schedule: 5-6 weeks feasible?
- Main challenge in translating data into simulations
- Goal: First comparison of the outcome
- --- Mid-May is decided as deadline for comparing results ---
- Use csv format as specified by Ina
- two or three typical layouts
- Buildings library, but parameters will be specified
- all properties and dimensions will be supplied separately
-
Next step:
- Have a look at losses
- Have a look at pumping power
- Ramp up from that
- Couple simulations?
-
Contributors:
- Felix (makes suggestion for lay-out)
- Annelies & Bram
- Peter?
- Others if interested
- Ground specifications? Kasuda model is often used
- Start with fixed temperature
-
Deadline: in 5 weeks
- Thermal network description week before next meeting such that contributors can prepare
- With assumptions (sophisticated), but automatization would be nice
- Konstantin gives an update: optimization code is running, but results are currently off.
- Massimo is contacted for other insights
- Slides from Berlin meeting can be uploaded to Specify github location
- Overview of what everybody is working on
- Find relevant research questions
- Results of building simulations
- Network lay-outs to start up network simulations
- Middle of May (week of 14/5) next meeting, see doodle
