USB Morse keyer main menu
The "system settings" menu in the USB Morse Keyer is used to change the configuration settings of the system. This menu is accessible from the idle state by pressing the "CONTROL/MODE" (SW1) switch.
The system settings menu is layout in the following order:
By turning the "CONTROL/MODE" (SW1) switch, the user can navigate over the sub-menu options in the following sequence:
Input mode → Keyer type → Morse speed → Speaker out → Send in loop → Keying type → Exit
Each of the above sub-menu options can accessible by pressing the "CONTROL/MODE" (SW1) switch in the relevant section.
To close the "settings menu" navigate to "Exit" sub-option and press the "CONTROL/MODE" (SW1) switch.
In this option, the user can specify the default input method of the auto keyer. There are two input modes are available for auto keyer:
- Keyer: Input is captured from Morse keyer attached to J1 socket.
- Host terminal: Input is captured from the USB port.
This option is used to specify the type of Morse keyer.
- Morse key: Use this option if a straight key is attached to the J1 socket.
- Morse paddle: Use this option if iambic paddle key is used as input keyer.
Specify default Morse speed. Once configured, this value is used by the system to capture the Morse inputs and also to release output. Three-speed options are available with current firmware, such as 5 WPM, 10 WPM, and 15 WPM.
Use this option to activate or deactivate AF output from auto keyer.
This option is used when sending Morse code using a memory manager. If this option is activated, the memory manager transmits Morse code in a continues loop, otherwise, it sends a pre-recorded message only once.
Keying type option represents the method auto keyer is used to send Morse codes. There are 3 keying options are available with current firmware release:
- Tone: Send Morse code as an audio signal.
- PTT: Send Morse code using a PTT key.
- PTT+Tone: Send Mose code using a PTT key and audio channel.
