Incident of Asteroid 47-B

The Battle

The Sky Mortar, a Kraftstof class auxiliary vessel was refining hydrogen on a sortie above Luna. A marked asteroid lay nearby, designated 47-B. Incidentally, behind asteroid 47-B a TFK Morgen gunship was hiding. The gunship named 'Autumn Apex' had previously been abandoned, and unknown to LKF had caused the destruction of 2 Morgen class landing pads and another Morgen gunship back on Luna.

The Morgen opened fire on the Kraftstof, letting off a volley of HE torpedo's. The Sky mortars PDC grid came online, and began targeting the torpedo's. 2 Torpedo's evaded fire and struck the Sky Mortar, causing substantial damage, but most of her systems were still perfectly fine.

The Sky Mortar then decided that the best thing to do was go in for the kills rather than be a sitting torpedo target. The two ships enagaged, firing there Gatling turrets into each other. Eventually, a critical system on the Morgen was hit causing an explosion that knocked out the thrusters. The Morgen floated off toward Luna in a slow spin. The Sky Mortar was badly damaged. Unfortunately the black box was separated and somehow, the entire ship ended up being knocked out.

After witnessing the incident, LKF promptly declared war on TFK.
