Session outline

In the first part of this session, the Diorisis Corpus and Diorisis Search will be presented. We will look at some of the ways in which these tools can be used both for self-study and in the classroom. In particular, the demonstration will cover the search engine, the parser, and the teaching tools.

In the second part, we will look at the Scaife Viewer. Scaife is a open-source reading environment built initially as part of the Open Greek and Latin Project but now also in use other places such as Brill's Scholarly Editions platform. We will take a tour of the current Scaife Viewer and the underlying architecture and technologies used. We will then look at some of the new work being done including support for manuscript images, maps, audio and metrical information, translation alignment, and syntax trees.
