Session outline

This session aims at presenting three different text-bearing objects and discuss their digital encoding:

1. The Digital Marmor Parium (http://www.digitalmarmorparium.org).
2. We will discuss one of the epigrams of Julia Balbilla, incised in the second century on the already-ancient statue of Amenhotep III, and see how digital encoding of this unusual relationship between text and monument, can help to capture both archaeological and advanced linguistic features. 3. The Vindolanda tablets (http://vindolanda.csad.ox.ac.uk/).
