This session aims at presenting three different text-bearing objects and discuss their digital encoding:
- The Digital Marmor Parium (http://www.digitalmarmorparium.org).
- We will discuss one of the epigrams of Julia Balbilla, incised in the second century on the already-ancient statue of Amenhotep III, and see how digital encoding of this unusual relationship between text and monument, can help to capture both archaeological and advanced linguistic features. (https://github.com/gabrielbodard/Balbilla)
- The Vindolanda tablets (http://vindolanda.csad.ox.ac.uk/).
- SNAP:DRGN project (linked prosopography)
- EpiDoc (epigraphy in XML)
- Treebanking (morphosyntactic annotation)
- Digital Grammar of Greek Documentary Papyri (treebanking corrected texts)
- Ugarit (translation alignment tool)
- The Digital Marmor Parium (presentations and readings)
