1. • Bryan:
     • There was an OR presentation by the COAR folks. Enlightening as to what is applicable to CLAW. Brian is hoping to make some use cases for based on that report for things that apply to CLAW.
     • We are using some of the COAR controlled vocabulary in CLAW right now.
     • Doesn't cover everything we need, but we are using what we can.
   • Jonathan:
     • Lots more repositories then other years.
     • CLAW talks went well. Here are slides from my talk: http://bit.ly/or2018-islandora
   • Bethany:
     • Lots of research data repositories.
     • Interesting the different in the way people are treating research data rather then other repository items.
2. • We are removing PHP 5 from the CLAW stack. This sets us up for an easier future.
   • First PR to go in is: https://github.com/Islandora-CLAW/islandora/pull/87
   • As well as supporting PHP 7.0 we are adding testing for 7.1 and 7.2 looking forward

Additional Discussion

1. Next steps for Danny

   • Danny is going to stand up a new sandbox.
   • Look into the outstanding PRs.
   • Start work on flysystem.
   • Start sprint on migration work.
   • Should have some sort of complex object in the demo section for a release version of Islandora.
     • Not sure how that will time with the release. But I think that we will probably have a sequenced object.
     • Hardest data modelling aspect is how to handle ordering.
     • Book module may help us with this modelling.

2. Things for release:

   • Flysystem for double data duplication issue
   • Images
   • Migration
   • Audio / Video
     • No derivatives
   • Devops stuff
   • Content modelling
   • This is above and beyond what we had been targeting, so its a good step for a release of an open beta.

3. Performance testing

   • Jonathan had some concerns about CLAW performance. Might be a good thing to test. General agreement testing would be good.
   • Jared has a lot of objects to migrate that will be a good test case.
   • Jonathan is going to make some more contrived test cases before full migrations to do some performance testing.
   • Danny has some mitigation ideas if performance turns out to be a big deal with the current system, but it might take us somewhat backwards with how we are modelling things in Drupal.

4. Drupal distribution

   • Jonathan raised this as a possible way to distribute CLAW.
   • Danny has done some looking into it. Might be something to look into for release.
   • Paul mentioned that it would be nice to not be required in case people want to base their CLAW install on another distribution. Or have a way to layer the distributions.
   • Might provide a better out of the box experience for people looking for an Islandora that just works.

5. Drupal.org

   • Before release we should perhaps put things on
   • Maybe some CI involved
   • Have to decide if we adopt the d.o workflow or keep the islandora workflow
   • Need to choose how we split modules up
   • Many modules may be of interest in the wider drupal community
   • Maybe start with one of the modules like openseadragon and see how it goes.
   • Danny is going to look into this.
