Welcome to the Hack for LA HomeUnite.Us team! This guide will help get you up to speed on what you need to know to get started.
- Pre-requisite: Complete the Hack for LA Onboarding Process
- Read the Guide for New Volunteers.
- Complete the Hack for LA onboarding process.
- Review our open roles
- HfLA Open Roles, Home Unite Us
- If there is an open role on Home Unite Us, reach out on Slack to the contact listed on the role. If there is not an open role on Home Unite Us, check out HfLA Open Roles for all projects.
- Join the #home-unite-us Slack channel and introduce yourself and provide your email address. (https://hackforla.slack.com/archives/C014MBV6788), and home-unite-us-pm
- You will be onboarded by the Lead PM during (Lola)
- Accept the Google Calendar invitation(s)
- Lead PM will add you to other resources, and follow up with you about next steps. In the meantime go onto the items below:
- Review the Home Unite Us wiki for context on the project, vision, and roadmap.
- Review the Home Unite Us Project Board and items in the In-Progress column to see what the team is working on. Issues on the GitHub board are the source of truth for development. Review this example Epic to become familiar with the structure of our product requirement documents.
- Complete the Home Unite Us feedback form to provide feedback on the onboarding process.

Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that all websites be accessible to people with disabilities. The World Wide Web (W3C) Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA function as the current legal standard for website accessibility. The Home Unite Us team follows the WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standard where possible.
