1. Instead of restarting a program when you have modified a tool you can just use the reload scripts button that is included. (It even reloads it's self. But when you reload the reload button you are going to have to press it twice, once to reload the reload button and once more to run the new reload script). There are however some weird things that happen if you try to reload the the byuam and byugui scripts. I would suggest reloading them by hand or restarting the software if you need to make changes.
