While interacting with other hackathon 2020 + 1 participants, we ask that you keep the following principles in mind to help us to maintain a safe and inclusive environment:

  • Welcome and support people of all backgrounds and identities.

  • Be a respectful participant that values other's skills, experience, and contributions.

  • Be an active, but considerate participant that listens to other's views and ideas

  • Ensure that the relationships and conversations among Hackathon 2020+1 participants remain respectful, participatory, and productive.

  • We hope for the Hackathon 2020+1 to be a safe space where participants – regardless of their technical abilities or experience in their career – can contribute and discuss issues within the Hackathon themes.

  • Maintain an environment where people are free from discrimination or harassment.

  • Respect privacy and safety of other participants

Please report any incident that potentially violates our Code of Conduct to one of the following Hackathon 2020+1 organisers via email:

This code of conduct is adapted from the 8 Rules of Code Club, the Data Visualization Society Code of Conduct, and the Turing Way Code of Conduct
