Fire PDU

The Fire PDU communicates information associated with the firing of a weapon or expendable. This information feeds visuals, sensors, and effects at the moment of firing and is used to identify the firing entity. The Fire PDU contains the following information:

  1. The identifier of the entity firing the weapon or expendable.
  2. The entity or object ID that is the intended target when known.
  3. The identifier of any munition or expendable entity that is created.
  4. The identifier of the specific event marked by this firing of a munition or expendable.
  5. Identification of the fire mission if known or applicable.
  6. An indication if this firing is for a weapon or expendable.
  7. Information required for representation of the path and impact of the munition or expendable, including: point of origin, type of munition/expendable, munition warhead, munition fuse, quantity and rate of munition fired, initial munition/expendable velocity, and range.
