Deploying on Bigscoots

As of January 2025, we now host the vast majority of our sites on Bigscoots. Below are the common processes you'll run into in working with sites on Bigscoots.

Setting Up a New Site on WordPress

1. Login at Bigscoots

2. Click the "Add New Site" button

3. Under the Add New Site step ...

• "What would you like to request?" - Select the "Add domain name" radio option

• Under the "Domain Info" tab, select the "Staging Domain" radio option

• Enter temporary domain name (As of 1/2025, Bigscoots requires .com extension or similar)

• Under "Select existing plan" - Select WPO Enterprise plan

• Under "Select existing domain" - Leave this blank

4. Click "Proceed"

5. Review settings and click "Continue"

6. Once the site is ready, find it under "My Sites"

7. Under the "Site Details" tab ...

• Under the "Site Lock" metabox, Enable/update Site Lock to factor1 and factor1

• Create an FTP user under the "FTP Details" metabox. Add these credentials to 1password

8. Under the "WordPress" tab, create the factor1admin user using our [email protected] email

9. Proceed with migrating your site to the new install on Bigscoots (including plugins, theme, and uploads)
