SamuraiWTF v5.2
What's Changed
- the folder structure is re-organized now that Katana is fully separate in its on repo.
- amazon-linux is now treated as reference implementation since we have found a workable base box. The reason for this is because the same build playbook works for both a local VM build and an Amazon Workspace lab environment.
- We have started producing stable downloadable VMs of the reference implementation once again. These are linked from the main README.md file.
- Katana self-updating is working. You can pull in the latest from katana by simply running
katana --update
from the command line. This makes using one of the reference implementation VMs more useful since katana updates can bring in updated targets, etc. without having to rebuild the whole environment.
SamuraiWTF 5.1
SamuraiWTF 5.0
Welcome to Samurai Web Training Framework 5.0!
Version 5.0 is a major change with strong consideration towards flexible lab configurations. With the new addition of Katana, a sort-of package manager for target applications, application security teachers will be able to easily load SamuraiWTF with the set of target applications that fit the purpose of their class. In addition, Katana uses a YAML descriptor (influenced by Ansible) to locally install and manage a target application, which means adding support for additional target applications is relatively easy.
An Virtual Machine (.ova) for this build can be downloaded here.
