This article includes some documentation on the hardware platform of the CANBadger, like certain PINOUTs.
The CAN connector provides two CAN interfaces. You can also use it to supply power to the CANBadger (~14V from OBD, for example).
Remember that some networks will require you to terminate the bus using the 120 ohm resistor, while some others may not work if you have the termination enabled. When you place the jumper on JP5 or JP6, CAN1 or CAN2 will be terminated. If you leave them open, there's no termination.
Use JP1 and JP2 to connect additional tools to the CAN bus.
