Hypothetical examples of plugin usage with features we might want to implement, or otherwise use other plugins to achieve. Note: these aren't in any way specific to NaW. Just hypothetical uses I can think up.

The Mines

  • A mine that can only be found when the local region has been depleted of resources; at all other times this mysterious mine is nowhere to be found.
    • Basic instancing; a mine created from an existing map full of ores. The base map can be used over and over again as any instances are emptied of resources.
    • The state of the mine is somewhat persistent; there is no timer based on player presence in the instance, and it has an absolute lifespan of a week. Following this the instance would be removed.
    • Instance can only be created by the admin, rather than through the actions of the players, though it can be accessed by players as normal.

Goblin fortress

  • The players are mounting an attack on a goblin fortress, and are sadly overwhelmed, having underestimated the strength of the forces stationed there. However, when they next wake up, they find themselves in a jailcell in the fortress; the goblins evidently aren't done with them.
    • Player respawn point changed, whilst in the instance, to somewhere other than the player's normal spawn point, or the entry point for the instance.
    • Players' existing spawn points should be saved so they can be restored when the player leaves.

Temple of the Blind Moon

  • Hidden within a jungle is an ancient temple whose doors only open under the new moon.
    • An instance that's only accessible during set periods of time, possibly in-game time.

Guild Storage

  • A small store-room only accessible by guild-members. Possibly rented.
    • Only accessible to people in the right nation/guild/group.
    • Persistent beyond when normal instances would implode; either it has no duration set for timing out, regardless of usage, or has a weekly or monthly time-out extendable by payment.
    • Has no regular cooldown on creation; the guild leader can't create another, but this is because the instance exists rather than any fixed cooldown. It's not going to expire based on time.

Ancient Portal Network

  • Those who lived in the world previously set up a network of portals linking the world, but the paths between one portal and the next have fallen into disrepair and aren't anywhere near as safe as they used to be. There's guaranteed to be another portal near where you exit, but it'll just lead to the next place in the chain.
    • Instance exit needn't be the same point as instance entry; it could lead to somewhere else in the world, or maybe to another world entirely.
