KE–C190 Heavy Converter Unit

The KE-C190 Heavy Converter Unit is a stackable 2.5-meter converter equipped with retractable heat sinks. It runs at high speed and produces rocket and jet fuels at high efficiency, but it produces waste heat that can slow the rate of conversion if not properly dissipated.

Heat sinks deploy and retract automatically as cooling is needed. When heat sinks are deployed, the converter cools more quickly, especially when operating in atmosphere. Air moving parallel to the heat sink fins further increases heat dissipation.

If a converter cannot dissipate its waste heat, all conversion processes on the part slow down. The part context menu has a readout for cooling efficiency, which indicates how well the converter is dissipating thermal energy. Conversion processes can only run as fast as the cooling efficiency.

Notes

  • Attaching struts or other thermally conductive parts to the KE-C190 will not increase its cooling performance.
