MTT News for 31 January, 2007

MTT 2.0.1 has been deployed to the core testers branch. All the improvements that it includes can be found in the commit message for r603.

We encourage everyone to upgrade as soon as possible.

One notable new feature is the ability to allow multiple simultaneous mtt invocations on the same scratch, but only for Test Runs that are either on different test suites or, if they're on the same test suite, for different values of NP. This new feature opens up a degree of parallelism in MTT testing that was not previously possible. For example, you can compile an MPI Install section and all of its related Test Build sections on a single machine, and then launch multiple copies of the corresponding Test Runs -- each with different NP values -- simultaneously on the same scratch directory across your cluster.
