Usage

Start by checking out the general pattern and style guidance on when to use page titles and headings from the Canada.ca Content Style Guide.

How to use

  • Heading 1 always contains the red ruler underline.
  • An institutional byline can be added below the red ruler underline if needed.
  • Follow the heading hierarchy, in order from H1 (most important) to H6 (least important).
  • There can only be one "Heading 1" per page.
  • Skipping a heading level should be avoided.

For more information visit WCAG.

Customizing Heading 1

The colour of the red rule underline cannot be changed. Please use the colour built into the component.
