Maral Baghai Arassi, MD, is a pediatric nephrology fellow at the University Children’s Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany and a research fellow at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg since October 2019. A graduate of Freiburg University School of Medicine, her research is dedicated to understanding the gut microbiome's influence in kidney transplantation. She focuses on the interactions between immunosuppressive drugs and gut bacteria, aiming to personalize immunosuppressive therapy to reduce post-transplant complications. |
