Clearing your Home Assistant cache

Clearing Home Assistant is not as easy as you might think. But here's a guide.

Desktop Google Chrome

  • Navigate to the page
  • Press F12 to open the Chrome developer tools
  • Right-click the refresh button to the left of the address bar (not in the developer tools, but it needs to be open for this to work)
  • Select the bottom option "Empty cache and hard reload"

Desktop Microsoft Edge

Same as Desktop Google Chrome

Desktop Safari

  • Navigate to the page
  • Press Option+Cmd+E to clear the cache
  • Press Cmd+R to reload the page

Mobile Safari

Unknown. Please open an issue if you know how to do it.

Home Assistant Companion App iOS

  • Go to Home Assistant Settings
  • Select "Companion" App (near the bottom)
  • Select "Debugging" (at the bottom)
  • Tap "Reset Frontend Cache"

Home Assistant Companion App Android

  • Open the recent apps menu
  • Swipe away the Home Assistant Companion App in order to close it

or

  • Force close the app
    • Go to "Settings"
    • Open "Apps"
    • Select the Home Assistant Companion App
    • Click the "Force stop" button
  • Reopen the app
