New Installer: User Stories
Here are some real user stories. They describe how users use SLES and how they expect their servers will operate.
TODO: User stories for installation to be added
Story: François has a pet-server running a company web server on the latest service pack of SLES 11 at provider's server-housing. He usually administrates the server using SSH. This server doesn't have any backup server thus François want's to minimize the downtime while upgrading to SLE 12. On the other hand, server data and configuration are backed up using rsync to another server in their company. At the end, everything should be upgraded to latest versions, and web-server should be fully operational.
Story: Hilda administers a virtual internal SMT (add-on) server. She is requested to uprade to SLE 12. The SMT server configuration is backed up to another internal server but there is too much data synchronized from SCC that they don't have any backup for them. They can be easily downloaded again but it would take several hours.
Story: Svávar is a senior administrator at a big Internet provider company. Their three DNS servers are running SLE 11 with the highest patch level. DNS service must be available all the times thus they use HA add-on. These three servers are at three different locations. He plans to upgrade to SLE 12 while the DNS service has to be operational all the times.
Prathamesh runs locally a university Samba server with users homes. He can reboot it whenever he wants as students are used to such behavior but he's a nice guy and wants to upgrade it to SLE 12 on Friday night when everyone is at a party. Prathamesh is not very skilled administrator.
