Ansible weareinteractive.nginx role

weareinteractive.nginx is an Ansible role which:

  • installs nginx
  • configures nginx
  • creates sites
  • enables/disables sites
  • optionally removes default host
  • adds rules
  • configures service

Note:

Since Ansible Galaxy supports organization now, this role has moved from franklinkim.nginx to weareinteractive.nginx!

Installation

Using ansible-galaxy:

$ ansible-galaxy install weareinteractive.nginx

Using requirements.yml:

- src: weareinteractive.nginx

Using git:

$ git clone https://github.com/weareinteractive/ansible-nginx.git weareinteractive.nginx

Handlers

These are the handlers that are defined in handlers/main.yml.

Rules

If nginx_add_rules is yes, it will copy some configuration rules to /etc/nginx/rules:

  • cache_busting.conf
  • cors_web_fonts.conf
  • gzip.conf
  • no_transform.conf
  • ssl.conf
  • cors_ajax.con
  • expires.conf
  • gzip_static.conf
  • security.conf

Usage

This is an example playbook:

Contributing

In lieu of a formal style guide, take care to maintain the existing coding style. Add unit tests and examples for any new or changed functionality.

  1. Fork it
  2. Create your feature branch (git checkout -b my-new-feature)
  3. Commit your changes (git commit -am 'Add some feature')
  4. Push to the branch (git push origin my-new-feature)
  5. Create new Pull Request
