### Quick Report

ARM has cancelled Qualcomm's license to use the ARM ISA after violating ARM\'s license terms. Qualcomm attempted to transfer Nuvia\'s ARM server license and IP to ARM, but ARM refused to accept the transfer. ARM has issued a 60-day notice to Qualcomm to cease using the ARM ISA.
<!-- more -->

This comes as a shock to most users but Qualcomm has decided to clean slate design with their X Elite design aka Oryon Core which debuted in their mobile platform with Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite. It was marketed as Apple M series competitor with low power and high performance design. Qualcomm did say ARM is trying to strong arm their **Long time partner**

Excerpts from Qualcomm:
> This is more of the same from Arm - more unfounded threats designed to strong arm a longtime partner, interfere with our performance-leading CPUs, and increase royalty rates regardless of the broad rights under our architecture license. With a trial fast approaching in December, Arm\'s desperate ploy appears to be an attempt to disrupt the legal process, and its claim for termination is completely baseless. We are confident that Qualcomm\'s rights under its agreement with Arm will be affirmed. Arm's anti-competitive conduct will not be tolerated

### Quick Report

During the 2024 RISC-V Summit in Santa Clara, California, NVIDIA was one of the presenting members. RISC-V, a free and open-source ISA (Instruction Set Architecture) making an interesting choice for many companies who wants to develop custom cores. NVIDIA developed their custom RISC-V core called **NV-RISCV** which replaced its predecessor **Falcon**.

NV-RISCV is much more customized caches and special instructions such as chip-to-chip interfaces, context switching, memory controller, camera handling, video codecs, display output, resource management, power management, and more. NVIDIA has developed over 20+ custom extensions for RISC-V cores, which all caters to their specific use cases.
