Dev Snapshots
Dev Snapshots/Releases, better known as "nightlies" are available for JPEGView!
GitHub Actions run on every push to the repository. For the average user, this just means that, if the build is successful, a dev release will be created.
Nightlies are all tagged. This is to help differentiate whether you're using a nightly (and which one), or an official release.
- Installer will say
~GHdevtest sylikc/<commit id>
- JPEGView's main window title bar will also show this text
- You can also find this information on the "About JPEGView" dialog
These are considered "beta" quality when on the master
branch. All other branches are considered "alpha" quality.
Feel free to extract and use them to test new features and changes. Only report bugs you find in the latest dev snapshots from the master
branch!
While debug releases are also created, these are slower, and are not designed for production use. If you click around, there will also be other Workflows... but they're designed to test the code itself, not for users to test.
For the most part, you can safely use dev snapshots from the master
branch... I do!
NOTE: Sometimes nightlies contain a few more debug files than an official release. These files are safe to leave hanging around, and aren't use by JPEGView itself.
Please DO NOT SHARE these snapshot artifacts. To keep yourself safe, only download snapshots from sylikc's GitHub using official links.
- Click on the name of a commit (the top of the list is the most recent commit)
- Scroll to the bottom of the "Summary" page
- Download the zip file under "Artifacts"
- Use the installer or just run the standard extracted files
