I am an artist interested in computer science, generative systems, and software for creativity and self-expression. I make audiovisual works applying open-source techniques from the field of AI, to which I contribute actively.
I give lectures and tutorials on topics at the intersection of code and creativity, and have given over 100 workshops on machine learning for arts, co-organized with partner institutions all over the world. I record and publish my classes on AI arts, and occasionally write. My dream art project is to create an autonomous artificial artist.
I am the founder of the ml4a project, a free collection of educational resources which facilitate a greater public understanding of machine learning for artists, activists, and citizen scientists. I also co-founded Mars College, an experimental residency program dedicated to fostering a low-cost, high-tech lifestyle in rural settings, and co-organized Alt-AI in 2016, one of the first conferences or public events about art and deep learning.

With the generous support of my sponsors, I aim to transition to making a stable living online and reducing my travel footprint. To facilitate this, I aim to evolve the ml4a project (which is also open to sponsorship) into a "workshop kit" which can be proctored by volunteers anywhere in the world. I hope you will consider joining me on this journey!
