After upgrading to Zotero 5, qnotero cannot find files anymore #27
Comments
Hi, I have the same problem. I run zotero standalone on ubuntu 16.04, and after updating to zotero 5.0.7 I cannot get Qnotero to work. Hope there is an easy fix. Cheers, Alex |
Hi guys, Thanks for flagging this. I don't know if there's an easy fix or not. They have changed something about the database structure in Zotero 5, but I don't know what exactly yet. I can't say when I'll get around to fixing this, but it's on the radar! Cheers, |
Thank Sebastiaan. |
Me too. And BTW - isn't there anybody else here who could help Sebastiaan with this? |
Hi, I played around with the new database format, and I think I managed to fix this bug (see on my qnotero forked repository). For some reason I also had to comment some lines that were converting the files' fulltext path to utf8, but this might only be some local bug... I guess this fix could be implemented, with some tests to chose the right sqllite query depending of the version of zotero 😃 |
@adareau - I modified that python script manually (just copied and pasted your modified code over the original script) to test whether it would fix the problem. I restarted qnotero and it works perfectly now (can get at my papers quickly again)! Thank you so much for your help! Maybe some others can test it and then it probably can be merged with the normal branch. |
Thank you @adareau! Can confirm that this also works perfectly for me (I'm on Linux Mint 18.3 using Zotero 5.0.56). |
Hi Sebastiaan,
Zotero forced me to make an upgrade today to version 5 and now Qnotero does not work. When I type in any search term, it gives no results. I did not change the path of my database or any settings so it must be something to do with the new database format in Zotero version 5.
Let me know if I can do anything to help with this issue.
Cheers,
Jesse
