Publishing
NOTE: This document will cover the specifics to VRED, (above and beyond the default Publisher) For all Publisher related content, see the official docs.
Create a Published File in Shotgun that links the local VRED file.
Create a 2D Version, a visual representation or image of your VRED scene, linked to the Published File.
If your VRED file is already saved into Shotgun, you will notice the VRED Render Settings (the "Filename") will point into a Shotgun managed directory. Renders will be stored in a folder based on the version number in your file name. Every time you save the file with Shotgun a new increment is made, and any existing renders will be associated with previous file versions, until you generate a new render.
When its time to Publish the VRED file, if there are rendered images or image sequences in this path, Shotgun will give you the option to Publish the renders as well. By clicking on the VRED Render object you can also leave a description specifically for this render. This is useful if these rendered images are going to another department or user.
