It's mostly my fault that this didn't happen, I dropped the ball on it. https://users.scala-lang.org/t/scala-ide-for-eclipse/9095.

What I did do is organize the domain transfer from Lightbend to EPFL, that is done (cc @fsalvi to confirm).

So I certainly agree to the proposal. I think we can take the website down, not only noindex it.

Yes, the Scala Center own the scala-ide.org domain
Right now, the website points to the scala-ide github website

Just to follow-up on this after the in-person meeting. It's my understanding that there will be a new page on the Scala site that covers editors correct @SethTisue?

This seemed to fully be supported to deprecate this page, but then I assume the two things needed to make this happen would be:

  1. The publishing of the aforementioned page
  2. A redirect setup when the Eclipse Scala site goes down
