AtomOS is a web-based desktop environment for Linux, which aim is to provide an easy-to-use and modern operating system on any device.

AtomOS began in 2016 as a small project of a web desktop and applications to create a seamless desktop experience on all devices in a web browser. Now, AtomOS is more than just a web desktop, now it is a fully working operating system, which could be run even on low-end machines and smartphones.

Since then, AtomOS was brought a brand-new design, a dedicated apps repository and a number of developers, which enhance the system every day.

In fact, most of things which could be said about Electron, could also be addressed to AtomOS, as these projects are developing together, and without Electron this project could even not exist.
