GloFAS and river depth analysis

Code repository: GloFAS and river depth analysis

Overview: This code aims to compare river discharge data from GloFAS (both historical and forecast) with river depth data. Case study: This is part of a project led by the Netherlands Red Cross' data and digital unit, 510, where the river depth data were provided by the National Authority in South Sudan.

Impact-based assesment of GloFAS and Google FloodHub river discharge data

Code repository: river-flood-data-analysis

Overview: This repository contains scripts that together perform an analysis of GloFAS's and Google FloodHub's predictive performance of river discharge data. For both, the data is downloaded, processed to a uniform type, and, subsequently, their accuracies (e.g. by probability of detection (POD) and false alarm ratio (FAR)) are assessed using impact data.

For downloading (continuous real-time) Google FloodHub data going back to July 2024, see the subrepo: https://github.com/valentijn7/GoogleFloodHub-data-extractor.
