105. Bluetooth
- ESP32 based boards can do Bluetooth Classic and BLE
- ESP32S2 based boards usually dont have BT nor BLE
- ESP32S3, ESP32C3 and almost all newer boards do not have Bluetooth Classic but have BLE.
Why is this important?
(As August 2024) APRSDroid only works with Bluetooth Classic (so with ESP32 based boards) over Android, so any ESP32S3 board wont work with it.
Bluetooth to connect to Phone+App (Android + APRSDroid)
Pair your phone with the tracker. Its name is "Lora Tracker XXXX"
Install APRSDroid app ( APRSDroid )
Open app and go to Settings and click on connection preferences
Protocol : TNC2 (recommended) or Kiss
Type : BLuetooth SPP
Module : Select our tracker name
Pair your phone with the tracker. Its name is "Lora Tracker XXXX"
Install ShareGPS app
Open app and go to Connections tab
Click on add button
Choose NMEA as Data Type
Choose Bluetooth as Connectoin Method
Name it and click next to set you tracker
To connect to it : long press on the connection name and click connect
Bluetooth is listening, repeat the operation for a second time to initiate the connection
recently added , you can connect the tracker over TNC mode in the app aprs.fi and send and receive messages and beacons.

Instalate la aplicación APRSDroid ( APRSDroid )
Abra la aplicación, vaya a Configuración y haz clic en preferencias de conexión.

Tipo: Bluetooth SPP
Módulo: Seleccionar el nombre de nuestro rastreador
Empareja por bluetooth tu teléfono con el Tracker. Su nombre es "Lora Tracker XXXX"
Instalar la aplicación ShareGPS
Abre la aplicación y vete a la pestaña Conexiones
Haz clic en el botón agregar
Elije NMEA como tipo de datos
Elije Bluetooth como método de conexión
Ponle nombre y haz clic en Siguiente para configurar su rastreador.
Para conectarse a él: se mantiene presionado el nombre de la conexión y clic en conectar
Así el Bluetooth está escuchando, se repite la operación por segunda vez para iniciar la conexión.
Se ha agregado recientemente, se puede conectar el rastreador a través del modo TNC en la aplicación aprs.fi, para enviar, recibir mensajes y balizas.
