Topics / Skills Specialties

I like using data for social good. I work for a nonprofit (Family Independence Initative) that supports low income families. I got my masters in Data Analytics and Public Policy at Heinz College at CMU. (And happy to talk about pros and cons of going back to school!)

I did some research last year on recreational cannabis in Washington State and how to better classify products using machine learning.

I'm also interested in how we talk about data to a range of audiences, how we can make it less intimidating while also increasing data literacy (which seems important now...).

I can help with:

  • Decent with ggplot
  • Decent with Shiny apps
  • Talking through / brainstorming how to approach data, what story you're telling, how to visualize
  • I <3 dplyr
  • Cleaning up your code / good practices
