SOI Villages Boundaries

Indian Village Boundaries obtained from https://onlinemaps.surveyofindia.gov.in/Digital_Product_Show.aspx

Converted to OSM XML format and split by Tehsils.

Data retrieved date: 13 July 2023

Known problems:
CAMPBELL BAY Tehsil in ANDAMAN and NICOBAR ISLANDS couldn't be processed.
Some Tehsils are in the wrong state( ex: found JHARGRAM Tehsil of WEST BENGAL in JAMMU and KASHMIR )
Some villages are missing names( marked as UNKNOWN ), Some Districts are missing Tehsils and villages.

Updated on 27th October 2023 ( no change in data retrieval date )

Changes:

• Data split by districts instead of tehsils based on user feed back.
• NICOBAR district data fixed.
• Bugfix for some files with invalid OSM data.

More problems discovered from user feedback:

• Villages with same name in a tehsil were present merged in SOI data.
• Some duplicate nodes present in converted OSM data.
• Some self intersecting ways found in OSM data( might have been in SOI data itself ).
