Remote Provisioning Schema Manifest

March 2015

The Office 365 Remote Provisioning Schema is a community drive effort to create a common and accepted model for a Remote Provisioning Schema. The Schema shall describe Office 365 artifacts so that a Provisioning Engine can read from an object, adhering to the schema, and provision artifacts in Office 365 in a safe and repeatable manner.

The Remote Provisioning Schema is maintained by the Office 365 Patterns and Practices group, but consider the schema as an open sourced entity that accepts community contributions. The Remote Provisioning Schema aims for monthly releases and will be properly versioned.

The schema is defined as an XML Schema and the artifact or template file is stored as an XML file. This is the standard format that should be accepted by a provisioning engine, but any format can be used as long as there is a conversion mechanism between the standardized XML format and the non-standard format.
