## Troubleshoot
`mysqld_safe` has its own section in the MySQL configuration file, and can use the log_error option from that section. If the log_error option is not specified in the [mysqld_safe] section, `mysqld_safe` does not default to the log_error option from the [mysqld] section.
Instead, it redirects the error output to `syslog` if no error log file is specified.

### Check and fix missing error logs

| Action | Description |
|-------------------------|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| Verify the configuration| Ensure that the `log_error` option in the MySQL configuration file (`my.cnf` or `my.ini`) is correctly set. |
| Check permissions | Make sure the MySQL user has the correct permissions to write to the specified log file and its directory. |
| Create missing directories | If the directory specified in `log_error` does not exist, create it with the appropriate permissions. |

If you have made changes, restart the server.
