Present at the meeting:
- Jérémie Dimino (@jeremiedimino)
- Sonja Heinze (@pitag-ha)
- Nathan Rebours (@NathanReb)
- Nathan looks into making MDX compatible with the latest ppxlib
- Nathan to publish a post on on the discuss to announce how the upgrade process is going
- Sonja works on Astlib
Sonja added a last touch to the bisect_ppx port which has now been merged! 🎉
Nathan and Sonja worked on the 4.12 upgrade process and this is now done. Out of the 80 packages considered initially as valid reverse dependencies:
- 6 couldn't be built (not building with dune, depending on a package not building with dune, depending on omp1)
- 4 were patched
- 70 were already compatible Nathan will go through the actual release after the meeting but we've done the hard part now. The process was relatively smooth and thanks to the fact that pretty much all rev deps were co-installable. If we want this to be true for the next ocaml release we have to carefully synchronize with the JaneStreet releases so maintainers have time to upgrade otherwise the JaneStreet packages won't be co-installable with the rest of our rev-deps. Nathan will post on discuss to let the community know how this is all going.
