To encourage the correct use of characteristics, parameters etc it might be helpful to show a little box with a description of the building block type when hovering over it in the “add building block” window in Swate.
We also discussed that the use of factor as a building block type might have to be emphasized more, because when users add a template they might not change a building block type to a factor. Do you think this is worth highlighting in Swate? I'm not sure what the best solution for this would be.

We previously had tooltips with small icons next to all building blocks, but this design was difficult to maintain (keeping knowledgebase and swate info aligned) and convoluted the UI.
Let me know if you have some design ideas on how to do this.
For example, when your mouse is positioned on the add building block symbol there is a little text block displayed that says "add building block". So our thought was to do the same with the definitions of parameter etc, without needing additional symbols. Hopefully the definitions shouldn't change too often that it would be difficult to keep up to date.
Encouraging changing building blocks to factors could maybe be added to the "help" section when previewing a template.
