Description

  • GlobalExclusiveDeviceAccess added for the execution of tests on real hardware. The test framework waits at most 5 seconds to get exclusive access, if that is not granted it will stop trying.

  • .editorconfig added

Motivation and Context

The test framework should get exclusive access as soon as possible, and keep that until the tests are finished. The framework also should have a timeout and not wait indefinite for a device to become available.

How Has This Been Tested?

Using the poc (by reference) and simultaneous access by nanoff.

💡 Codebase verification

Package update is correct, but GlobalExclusiveDeviceAccess implementation is missing.

The nanoFramework.Tools.Debugger.Net package has been successfully updated to version 2.4.46, which includes enhancements for GlobalExclusiveDeviceAccess. However, the PR does not include any code changes that implement or utilize these new features.

🔗 Analysis chain

Package version update looks good, but clarification needed.

The update of nanoFramework.Tools.Debugger.Net from version 2.4.42 to 2.4.46 is consistent and follows good package management practices. However, there's a discrepancy between the PR objectives and the actual changes:

  1. The PR objectives mention adding GlobalExclusiveDeviceAccess, but the only change in this file is a package version update.
  2. It's unclear if this version update includes the GlobalExclusiveDeviceAccess feature mentioned in the PR objectives.

Could you please clarify:

  1. Does this version update of nanoFramework.Tools.Debugger.Net include the GlobalExclusiveDeviceAccess feature?
  2. Are there other files changed in this PR that implement the GlobalExclusiveDeviceAccess feature?

To verify the package contents and changes, you can run:

🏁 Scripts executed

The following scripts were executed for the analysis:

Script:

#!/bin/bash
# Fetch the changelog or release notes for nanoFramework.Tools.Debugger.Net
gh release view v2.4.46 --repo nanoframework/nf-debugger

# Check for any mentions of GlobalExclusiveDeviceAccess in the project files
rg -i "GlobalExclusiveDeviceAccess" --type csharp

Length of output: 1056
