This Governance <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://manual.makerdao.com/governance/governance-cycle/weekly-governance-cycle#weekly-governance-cycle-definitions-mip16c1\">Poll</a> will be active for three days beginning on Monday, January 15 at 16:00 UTC.</p>\n<p><strong>This is a binary vote.</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>You may vote for a single option.</strong></li>\n<li><strong>You should vote for the option which you prefer.</strong></li>\n<li><strong>If you would accept either option, you should vote 'Abstain'.</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Review</h2>\n<p>Given that the current supply cap for WBTC, set at 3,000 WBTC, has been reached and considering the continued demand for leverage using WBTC, Phoenix Labs proposes an increase in the WBTC supply cap on Ethereum. The specific value for this increase was determined by the BA Labs acting as the Stability Scope facilitator. Furthermore, USDC/USDT IRMs are currently hardcoded with an assumption that the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://manual.makerdao.com/parameter-index/core/param-dai-savings-rate\">Dai Savings Rate (DSR)</a> is 5%, which can result in a suboptimal borrow rate. Phoenix Labs suggests updating these IRMs to more suitable versions that address these issues by reducing the DAI market IRM to the most simple form which tracks the DSR + a hardcoded spread and updating USDC/USDT IRMs to read the DSR directly and adjusting the kink automatically to optimize borrow.
