Electrical Challenges

The Richland Prefabs have narrow exterior studs. Rather than the standard 2x6 studs, the studs are 2x4. The sub-floor and attic joists are 2x6 with single or double sheathing, usually double below and single in the attic. Running electric wire without removing the wall sheathing is difficult because of the small space between the walls, roughly 2 inches.

Surface mounted wire runs are the easiest solution but there’s a cosmetic downside to that.
