Migrating

Here's a short procedure to follow if you wish to upgrade your existing geOrchestra GeoNetwork from 2.6.3 (geOrchestra < 12.11) or from 2.9 (geOrchestra 12.11) to 2.10 (geOrchestra 13.02)

  • upgrade the security proxy

  • backup your existing geonetwork data dir and database

  • stop the tomcat where geonetwork is installed

  • update your geonetwork tomcat options according to the above setup

  • upgrade your geonetwork database:

    • check the tables owner. The following patches assume www-data. If not, edit them.
    • from 2.6 to 2.9: apply the following SQL patch
    • from 2.9 to 2.10: apply this other SQL patch
    • In case of errors during the upgrade, you have to fix them. Usually, this is because of conflicting settings. Please refer to georchestra/georchestra#166 for more information and possible solutions.
  • upgrade your <geonetwork_data_dir> from 2.6 to 2.10:

    • cd <geonetwork_data_dir>
    • mkdir /tmp/mydata
    • mv * /tmp/mydata/
    • mkdir -p data/metadata_data
    • mv /tmp/mydata/* data/metadata_data/
    • unzip your new geonetwork.war in /tmp
    • cp -r /tmp/<geonetwork_war_unzipped>/WEB-INF/data/config <geonetwork_data_dir>
  • ... OR upgrade your <geonetwork_data_dir> from 2.9 to 2.10:

    • unzip your new geonetwork.war in /tmp
    • rm -rf <geonetwork_data_dir>/config
    • cp -r /tmp/<geonetwork_war_unzipped>/WEB-INF/data/config <geonetwork_data_dir>
    • mkdir /tmp/mydata
    • mv <geonetwork_data_dir>/data/* /tmp/mydata
    • mkdir <geonetwork_data_dir>/data/metadata_data
    • mv /tmp/mydata/* <geonetwork_data_dir>/data/metadata_data
    • rm -f <geonetwork_data_dir>/config/schemaplugin-uri-catalog.xml

Don't forget to check rights on your geonetwork data dir files (must be RW by tomcat user).

If your geonetwork webapp is named geonetwork-private, edit your apache config and add the following proxypass:

ProxyPass /geonetwork-private/ ajp://localhost:8009/geonetwork/
ProxyPassReverse /geonetwork-private/ ajp://localhost.com:8009/geonetwork/

Restart apache + tomcat and you're done.
