jetbrains_rider

This Ansible role is designed to install or uninstall JetBrains Rider, a .NET development IDE, on Linux machines. You can control whether to install or remove JetBrains Rider using a variable.

Requirements

• Ansible version: 2.9 or higher.
• Root privileges (using become: yes), as installation happens in system directories such as /opt/jetbrains and symlinks are created in /usr/local/bin.
• Internet access on the managed machine to download JetBrains Rider from JetBrains' website.

Role Variables

Default Variables (in defaults/main.yml)

Action Control

• rider_action: Determines whether to install or uninstall JetBrains Rider. Valid values:
  • install: Installs the specified version of JetBrains Rider.
  • uninstall: Uninstalls JetBrains Rider and removes the associated symlink and installation directory.

You can override these variables in your playbook or via the command line:

rider_action: "install"  # Can be 'install' or 'uninstall'
